Thermomechanical performance analysis and experiment of electrothermal shape memory alloy helical spring actuator

In this paper, an electrothermal shape memory alloy helical spring actuator constructed from with copper-cored enameled wire is presented and fabricated. Based on the shear constitutive model of a alloy, Thermo equilibrium equation geometrical establish thermomechanical theoretical alloys under different scenarios. The behaviors were verified by numerical simulation experimental tests, properties derived analysis current, temperature, response time, restoring force, axial displacement as parameters. results show that produces maximum recovery force 70.2 N output 7.7 mm at 100°C. time 26 s current 3A. It also demonstrated can effectively characterize complex thermo-mechanical due to strong nonlinearity alloy. temperature-force temperature-displacement response, well force-displacement temperatures, provide references for design fabrication shape-memory coil actuators.
